Other Issues Related to New Vehicle Quality Warranty

1. Warranty for repair-replacement of parts
To satisfy our customers, BMW authorized service center will provide warranty repair to certain damaged parts. The replaced parts belong to BMW authorized sales center. The most economical and effective rectification of the fault will be used in such warranty repair. During warranty period, all replaced parts also enjoy the warranty repair and such replaced part’s warranty period will be expired with the expiry of 2-year warranty period of new entire vehicle.

2. Modification of vehicle original equipments
Damages or malfunctions caused by installing or modifying or changing vehicle original equipments are not covered by warranty. E.g. using non-Original BMW parts, accessories, materials or installing, changing, cutting, welding or removing the original equipments of the vehicle.

3. Vehicle repair before delivery
All defects discovered before vehicle delivery to customer are covered by warranty. If this case happens, please contact BMW authorized service center.

4. Vehicle’s maintenance and warranty repair in other cities
If customer is away from or change his/her domicile and need car repair or maintenance, please visit nearest BMW authorized service center with vehicle maintenance booklet. This BMW authorized service center will continue to provide warranty repair and maintenance according to BMW global standards.

5. Warranty for parts replaced at customers’own expenses
2-year warranty period with unlimited mileages will apply to the replaced parts bought by customers at their own expenses from BMW authorized service center, which begins from the date of replacement.

6. Customer’obligations
Vehicle’ regular and correct maintenance is customer’ obligation. BMW recommends customers trying to go to BMW authorized service center to maintain vehicle on a regular basis. This will help customers fully enjoy quality warranty provided hereunder and avoid loss of warranty right hereunder caused by selection of unprofessional maintenance and repair service center provider. Customers should go to BMW authorized service center according to vehicle maintenance schedule or mileage and the maintenance data will be recorded in vehicle service booklet by BMW authorized service center after maintenance.

7. The function and consumption standard of engine oil
The engine oil is one of the most important operating fluids in a combustion engine. The principal functions of the engine oil are: lubrication, cooling and prevention of corrosion and sediment. It is a technical necessity that every combustion engine consumes engine oil. For this reason, engines with a high-speed concept tend to have higher engine oil consumption than other BMW engines. The level of the engine oil consumptions is greatly influenced by driving style and by the fuel used. For BMW spark-ignition and diesel engines, the maximum permissible engine oil consumption is 0.7 l/1000 km. Because of their increased power output and torque, M engines have a maximum permissible oil consumption of 1.5 l/1000 km. Oil consumption up to above specification according with technical standard, belongs to normal range. The oil indicator/warning light is a feature from BMW to remind the driver to check and refill the oil. It does not indicate any fault or defect. Please contact your nearest authorized BMW dealer in such a case.
